In fact the last time Melbourne won on Queen's Birthday was back in 2007.
I would hate to lose them twice in a season. _________________ 2016 Player Sponsor for Travis Varcoe

Can't lose to these rabbits twice...what a horror thought. |
Looks to me like it was 1988 - 3 times that year (twice in the home and away and once in the finals). But they have won 4 in a row against us as recently as 2007 - the difference is that it took them 4 years to do it because we mostly seem to have played them only once a year in recent seasons (twice last year but, before that, 2010). |

Pies by 2 points - White to kick a goal after the siren.
Out - Frost, Toovey, Oxley & Blair
In - Brown, Williams, Marsh & Aish
Need to see is Crocker, Goodyear, Maynard & Smith are worth persisting with in 2017. |

I'll watch, but the result is irrelevant if you can't play finals

Yes the pons ford will be quite bare I'm guessing! We will be there! Support my boys, support a good cause, and best of all, spend the day with my daughter. Cheers _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

No we need Blairs effort, but I'll agree to the rest.
I think Tooveys time is nearly done, but it was great to see him down that player in the last and get the free for it.
Smith has a lot of guys, he goes in hard, and Maynard keeps on trying, the skills will come when he finds his spot and has time to use them. Like Crocker, haven't really noticed Goodyear TBH. I keep hearing about Marsh, love to see what he can do, only seen him play a couple of times.
And man there is no other way to say it, I love big cox! _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Outs: Goodyear (selection was a mistake if we want to win), Oxley, maybe Frost depending on matchups
Possible ins: Williams, Aish, Brown
Truth is we're going to struggle to win or even compete consistently if we're playing the likes of: Cox, Goodyear, Smith, Crocker, Maynard. Even when these players do a decent job individually they don't have the experience to play proper team footy. It's especially problematic in defense where Maynard is continually out of position and every week gives up goals either from turnovers or frees against. _________________ Well done boys! |

Doubt there will be many changes. Wait and see how players pull up after today, hopefully Howe is okay.
Phillips, Marsh, Aish, Witts and Williams appear to be the most likely if there are to be inclusions. Might look to Brown given Dees potentially have Hogan, Dawes and Frost playing forward, just not sure he's ready for a recall. |

We need Brown for experience and strength against Melbourne. Dees have enough talls that we could play all of Reid, Brown and Frost (some are coming to the view that Frost is no good. I disagree, he's an athletic stopper, just lacks the strength on bigger opponents). Hopefully Brown is fit enough to play. _________________ Well done boys! |

Might be a record breaking low crowd again this week if there is heaps of snow. The Queens Birthday clash needs to involve other clubs. Nothing like an embarrassing thumping to build up the hype this week. |

We have to beat the toffs. I want to see that smug Jessie Hogan and Nathan Jones knocked out and covered in claret! _________________ " Ohhh Banksy and out comes the Note Book".

Somehow, some $£$%^%%$ how, we must beat these toffy nosed bastards, but right now, I'm damned if I know how we can do it. ?!
This needs further musings and reflective thought. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

I agree with you re the outs. You're right about Goodyear. In both games he's played he has seemed overawed or physically undermanned for the task.
Re the ins, I guess Brown's experience and physicality will be needed, but more than anything I think Brown needs to string a few good games together to persuade the club not to delist him at season's end. I didn't see the VFL game, but it seems that Phillips is playing very well and he has more speed and is a better mark than Aish, so I'd give him a run before Aish. Marsh should also come back in. I suspect Williams needs another run in the VFL. |
