The five-time Olympian will certainly enjoy his fair share this season, starting with his 550th NBL game when his Melbourne Tigers host lowly Hunter tomorrow night.

Gaze, 38, will become just the second player after his hero, retired Brisbane star Leroy Loggins (567 games), to reach the remarkable 550 mark.

He should equal Loggins' record on January 21 next year when the Tigers visit Cairns and break the mark on January 24 at home, also against the Taipans.

It's impressive stuff from arguably Australia's greatest basketballer – if only he knew.
