Who is the conditioning coach down there? Every year we have soft tissue injuries going into the start of round 1. And don't get me started on the wonderful recruitment of Wells. Betting we won't be seeing him on the park and if we do it will be in for 1 out for 4. |

You do realise we have 7 players out and haven't got to round 1 yet? If that is a shape, it isn't a good one.
Lose another 1 or 2 players after Rd 1 and all of a sudden there is no competition for spots . No flexibility at selection. And we continue to play catch up with team continuity.
Players that are injured lose condition, form and touch. It can take 4 weeks of senior footy before they start performing at their optimum. So we lose them for the injury period plus a week or so in the vfl and another few weeks at seniors before they are playing well. So a 4 week injury can be really 8-9 weeks before they start to play well again and gel with the team.
This injury list is poor. Not good. DeGoey, Wells, Greenwood, Elliott, and Sinclair are all best 22 when fit and in form. That is a fair whack out of the side at this time of the year. Come June we'll have 6 of our best 22 left at this rate.
And we haven't received our mandatory 3 ACLs yet. They're still to come.
Good shape! Wow! |

Spot on comments.

Tend to agree with above. If people think our injury list is in good shape then they are probably likely to accept a mediocre 8-10 win season as well.
We have lost 3 mids, our best small forward and our run off half back.
Add to that Langdon and Wills who have both shown physical traits we lack when the game is on the line.
Pretty concerning I would say. |

Its a pretty crap way to start off yet again.
The only positive i can find in it all is that apart from sinkers and maybe greenwood we will likely get quite a few of them back within a month.
But by then who knows what shape we'll be in.
Do we know why the Greenwood decision to operate came so late? _________________ No Pressure, No Diamonds

It's all relative. All injuries are bad, and I am one who is very disappointed that Elliott, De Goey and Wells are not available. My point, however, is that last year, for various reasons, we had a few players who missed virtually, if not all, the whole season, including Elliott, Scharenberg, Ramsay, Langdon, Swanny, Keefe and Thomas. I realise the season is yet to unfold, but right now we only have one player with a long term injury. Time will tell, but compared to last year, I think our availability list is much better this year. |

^ yes. Better than last year. But that is a very low bench mark. Compare it to other teams who are only missing one or two players. |

No, it's even more brilliant idea to have a knob on your list polluting the club.
