This man is out of control! Now he kills his Defence Minister for falling asleep during an event attended by Kim Jong Un and for not carrying out his instructions.
Clearly Kim is doing everything he can to ensure any threats to his leadership are dismantled as quickly as possible. He seems far more ruthless and imposing than his father was and to think some of us thought that North Korea might change for the better after Kim Jong-Il died in December 2011.
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-32716749
Quote: | North Korea's Defence Minister Hyon Yong-chol has been executed for showing disloyalty to leader Kim Jong-un, South Korea's spy agency has told parliament.
MPs were told Mr Hyon was killed on 30 April by anti-aircraft fire in front of an audience of hundreds, the Yonhap news agency reports.
It said Mr Hyon had fallen asleep during an event attended by Kim Jong-un and had not carried out instructions.
The news comes weeks after the reported execution of 15 senior officials.
Among them were two vice ministers who had challenged Mr Kim over his policies and members of an orchestra, the South's National Intelligence Agency (NIS) said at the time.
Mr Kim purged and executed his once-powerful uncle for treachery in 2013.
Analysts told the BBC that while reshuffles of officials are commonplace in North Korea, the execution of a figure as close to Mr Kim as Mr Hyon was surprising and could give cause for concern about the country's stability. |

To be honest I'm surprised someone hasn't put a bullet in him for the greater good of the North Korean people. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

I honestly wonder if that would solve anything. How do you 'save' a brainwashed population? I'm sure there are plenty of generals who would be happy to carry on his good work. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

To reiterate, it's a buffer zone in a standoff between powers; North Koreans are trapped while China, the US (and allies) and Russia keep each other at bay. No At the same time, with rusty old short-range missiles pointed at Greater Seoul and Greater Beijing, there is the assumption that the one in charge is by definition the stablest pair of hands, despite the distracting haircut!
However, as David says, the nation itself is also a giant hills cult. I'm tipping you wouldn't like many North Koreans much more than the good folks down at ISIS, so it would be a slow process culturally, too, despite the good stories you might read about escapees. _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

North Korea have reportedly carried out their biggest nuclear test to date that has sparked global outrage from various countries including the USA, Japan, South Korea and Russia.

This would be as opposed to "global outrage" from only one country then. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Hey, if you can use a howitzer to execute a sleepy minister, you can use a nuke to remove a few people who were being sarcastic. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |
