Stevo"s torp was just out of this world and he's just chock full of talent, all in one skinny, wiry body.
Checkers is one of my favourite players. Just works, takes the knocks and then works some more. An integral part of the forward structure now. . |

Stevo's torp was reminiscent of Didak's torp in 2010 against Carlton. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

On Varcoe, it wasn’t a bump. He went in to contest and was just harder than the SoftStKildaLoser he met. |

Hated it and then Loved it.....Nice to get 4 points and percentage.
Langdon injury is a worry
Varcoe...silly and it'll cost him 2 weeks
No more injuries. I'm a bit over the injuries. |
I dunno, not sure it got him in the head and he was bending to pick up the ball. |
Doesn't matter. The hit caused the head contact. If the MRO gives one week for a shepherd, it'll be 2 weeks for this bump. |
looked like the head contact was with Tom Phillips. Looked like he got the saints player on the shoulder. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

Travis is gone. I say he'll get a week.
Very comfortable win in the end. Really liked Mayne's game. |

That was a great win in the end.I thought we were gone after quarter time. But somehow we managed to steady and then we thrashed them in the last quarter. This side seems to made of steel,it just seems to be able to overcome any sort of adversity. And speaking of Steele, how good was he today?Rightt back to his very best.

Found our A game in time. Sidebottom to the wing was pivotal as were our centre square configurations that finally took advantage of Grundy's hitout dominance. _________________ Get back on top. |

Stevo and Checkers have been a handy dynamic duo for us for a good year. As long as we have those two up forward things happen. I was so pessimistic about this game up until 3/4 time but i clearly underestimated the class we have. Kudos to the undermanned defence aswell. |

Grundy's game today was one of the best individual performance I’ve ever seen by a Magpie.
Being st the ground you appreciate all that he does. Unbelievable. _________________ Est. 2002 |

Yes. Good numbers again but disposal efficiency way down. Worst of all our boys, today. 54.2%. _________________ Donny.

Seriously? You’re going to throw up DE?
His kicks were ‘inefficient’ cos he was doing all the grunt work after the ruck duals for 3 quarters. He did it all himself and then the onballers finally worked out how to shark his ruck taps.
24 disposals and 6 tackles to go with 49 hit outs? Insane game. _________________ Est. 2002 |

The way this team stepped up in the fourth quarter was indicative of their development over the past couple of seasons. In back to back games they’ve been massively challenged by opponents who won’t play a better game all season, yet the boys had the fortitude, the desire, the skill and the passion to go to a level that very few teams reach.
Of course you’d love to see a dominant four quarter performance, but I’d rather save that for September. Winning like that at this stage of the season, with so much star power missing, against a team that played a virtual Grand Final for three quarters, was pretty bloody impressive.
I thought Sidebottom was phenomenal and still can’t understand the hate for him in some quarters here; Grundy has the potential to be the best ruckman who ever lived; Mihocek has just been a gift; Pendles is Pendles but we can never take his brilliance for granted; Stevo was terrific and that torp was incredible; Trav was awesome in that final quarter and I loved Reid’s game.
Less than three years ago we lose that game, no question. But this group now has the right pieces in place, the right brand of football, and the kind of depth that ultimately wins you premierships. Well done Pies. _________________ I, for one, welcome our new black and white overlords |

He was better last week. That centre clearance in the last quarter today where he just bullocked it out to our mid was awe-inspiring. |
