We may yet see picks traded and father-son/academy players bided on which will change our draft pick number.
But right now we have 35.
And that's a lucky number for us.
Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has been watching the TAC Cup and may have some ideas about who we may be looking at at our first pick.
I've had a quick look around and found these guys interesting;
Charlie Comben. 199cm key forward. (Vic C)
Quote: | From afl.com.au;
Comben is an exciting tall talent. At 199cm, Comben can pinch-hit in the ruck, but plays mainly as a forward, where his contested marking and sticky hands makes him a threat in the air. Will be picked on potential more than production, but has ability. |
Mitch Georgiades. 191cm key forward. (WA)
Quote: | From afl.com.au;
Looma as one of the most interesting players in the draft. The key forward didn't play a game this season due to a bad quad injury, but he has fully recovered and tested very well at the NAB Draft Combine. |

Sidelined with a quad injury all year, trying to work out where the exciting but seriously raw forward will go is anyone’s guess. His work at the 2018 AFL Under-18 Championships was a treat with his high leaping and marking ability on display. He was still very raw in the sense he did not find a lot of it, but his ceiling could be great value for a club mid-draft, though a club could pounce earlier. |
Kysaiah Pickett. 170cm small forward. (SA)
Quote: | From afl.com.au
A strong and aggressive small forward who is the nephew of Port Adelaide star Byron, is likely to find a home around pick 40 of the draft. An exciting and eye-catching prospect, particularly with his marking. |

If we’re looking at talls, assuming he was still there, Emerson Jeka is easily one of the best performed tall utility’s in the TAC this year.
Western jets, great mark and a body shape that’s not to far off the mark already.
I’m only guessing but he would probably go sooner than 35 odd anyway but if we do improve our draft position, I would think he would be in consideration.
We need to remember there aren’t many talls who are highly rated in this draft. It’s no good picking a tall just because we need one if we don’t rate the kid in the first place.
And yes, Georgiades is the wild card in the pack. Could go anywhere from 15 through to 40. |

For pick 35 I want a player where our recuriting staff are compelled to say:
"I can't believe he drifted this far in the order" & "Massive upside" amongst other things _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

The only people this is typically true of is the player who appears to have all the skills to succeed at TAC level BUT is the undersized player, the slow player, or the player with questionable foot skills. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

Questionable footskills is referred to by recruiters as “ good with his hands” _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

I live in hope of a great unexpected pick - I seem to remember we got Grundy around pick 18 and it was about the quickest anyone has yelled out a players name in draft history _________________ I think therefore I think - I think |

Not expecting a great deal from this year's draft. Hoping for improvement from within, with guys like Tyler Brown, Will Kelly, Quaynor and perhaps one or both of the Irish fellas. Having Beams and Sier fit and keen wouldn't hurt either and oh, Langdon returning also, that'll be great. _________________ Formally frankiboy and FrankieGoesToCollingwood. |

Me too. I want a fast pacy aboriginal forward pocket goal sneak who can ruck, is caucasian can play a key position and is culturally and linguistically diverse. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman

Have heard a bit about him. Would be a mature-aged prospect since he is turning 20 soon.
Would he be ore of a rookie draft prospect? Or a late pick?
Is he related to Peter Riccardi? _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Sounds great, as long as they're gender fluid too. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Very slim pickings, but probably between, 2007 Western Bulldogs selected Sam Reid who now plays for GWS and so far has 90 games under his belt.
In 1996 Richmond selected Mark Chaffey with pick 35 who went on to play 166 games.
Apart from the previously mention selection of Callum Brown in 2016, we have had selection 35 on three other occasions.
1993 Aaron James (54 games - 23 Coll, 30 Rich, 1 Bulldogs)
1998 Brad Oborne (5 games), and
2003 Brent Hall (1 game) _________________ In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away |
