Has anyone seen an improvement in Jack Magden over Marsh series
I saw his game against Swans in Sydney and was not impressed _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Didn't he have glandular fever over the pre season? |

He was very solid against Richmond. He had a lot of the ball and used it fairly well over distance. He did look to me to have improved - the real question, of course, is if he can maintain that improvement against full AFL sides (on that day, Richmond, like us, was missing most of its top players). |

On Jack Magden I agree and he was very solid against Tigers
It might need more exposure ( if he keeps improving) OK he ain’t stylish but more a tireless worker and one only has to watch Miochek to see value that hard work brings to the team _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Between the glandular fever and hand injury you would assume it's a no but I will admit my worry for him this season was about how he will respond to his suspension last year and whether the player we get back is the one we fell in love with.
Will he still have the same spark, the hubris to launch that torpedo or will he become more introverted not wishing to draw any extra attention to himself.
For a player like Stephenson that would be a disaster IMHO. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Time will tell but if you're looking for early signs, in the STK preseason game he had reduced the fiddling with the ball when lining up for goal _________________ https://forever.collingwoodfc.com.au/sav-sinks-the-dockers/ |

You should re-watch the match v the swans and you’ll see he did quite well. He does his job well. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Why the Magpies and the Dogs are premiership contenders
https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/why-the-collingwood-magpies-and-western-bulldogs-are-premiership-contenders-20200319-p54bt2.html
"It’s often said footy is a marathon, but this year it might be more like a 1500-metre race. ...
With the season reduced to 17 matches, winning on Friday night match could prove the difference between finishing in the top-four or being an also-ran. The mental preparation of both sides will be telling.
...
The shortened quarters make for another interesting dynamic.
...
My challenge to him [Tim English] is to make Grundy work both ways. If he can make Grundy accountable, at the very least, the Pies ruckman won’t be as fresh or damaging when Collingwood has the ball. Grundy might be an All-Australian, but I reckon he’s learnt plenty from last year, too, after his 73 hitouts in the preliminary final against GWS didn’t give his side that much advantage.
While the state-of-origin match might not be the most reliable guide, it seems he’s identified how much time he gives his teammates if he puts the ball into space rather than dropping it at his feet." |

I wonder whether a side containing all of Adams, Elliott, Thomas, Brown and Daicos is one small to many.
Elliott, Thomas and Daicos in particular will all need to lift their tackle numbers and pressure rating this season if it is to work. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Stop being a nervous nellie. Stephenson’s gunna be fine. He works hard & develops his innate abilities.
Having said that I’m nervous about the result. Bloody Nahghton being in is worrisome. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Naughton is a big talent but he hasn't played all preseason so must be underdone.
I'd be disappointed if he got a hold of one of our quality defenders in that circumstance. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |
