Coopers has a great reputation. Unfortunately, there isn't any other good thing about it. It tastes like ... well, like South Australian beer.
Also, the people who own it are right barstards who give money to bad causes, such as opposing gay marriage just to name one. So screw 'em. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Meanwhile, back on-topic, Victorian quarantine workers, including security guards, now that international arrivals are restarting, will be "advance contract traced" - i.e., their living arrangements will be disclosed - and they will be banned from working any other jobs while they are working in the hotels.
I'm gobsmacked that this hasn't long since been standard operating procedure in all states (looking at you South Australia). _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Blimey. WA does not enforce the no-second-job rule, and has no plans to. That is really, really stupid.
The WA premier says it's a bit rough on people telling therm they can't have second job. Well duh. But there is absolutely nothing stopping them working five jobs if they want to - just so long as one of them isn't Covid related. They didn't have to take the Covid job, and if they can't cope with the necessary precautions, then they can bugger off and let someone else have the job - someone who is prepared to take safety seriously. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

^ A clear solution would be to pay them well enough that they don’t have to. (It’s also tricky as it’s most likely to be a short-term job and they may have an existing position – in such cases governments should be able to negotiate something with existing employers so they can put that job on ice and still be guaranteed it when they come back.) Ultimately, these positions are needed and I suspect people aren’t exactly lining up around the block to take them. So state governments need to look after them, both for their sake and everybody else’s. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

The government needs to classify the jobs as they do with fire fighting in summer or defence force reservists, classify as emergency services leave required and the business has to allow them leave. |

Yep. Pay what the job is worth, and require that it be done properly. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

The solution is to directly employ the people working in hotel quarantine (and pay them appropriately) rather than contracting it out to then be let out to subcontractors.
SA has been running hotel quarantine for months, successfully, unlike Victorias imbecilic attempt. You'd like to think that when Victoria does reopen to international flights and has to manage a quarantine program, enough has been learned to make sure it actually works.
Unfortunately I have zero faith that will have happened. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Update from DHHS today:
https://twitter.com/VicGovDHHS/status/1329567211736887297
Quote: | There is a possible case reported that is under investigation; the initial test result is a weak +ve. Further testing today, inc review by an expert panel. The case may be a false +ve or historic infection. Precautionary public health actions in place as investigations continue. |
Otherwise, another day of doughnuts and we're down to just 2 active cases now. Fingers crossed that this possible new case isn't one, and we can stay on 0 at least until Sunday when the next restrictions are due to be lifted. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

It turns out that the South Australian lockdown decision was based on the lies told to contact tracers by a worker at the pizza shop, who pretended he was only a customer.
Much of the lockdown is now being cancelled.
That lying barstard cost South Australias millions and millions of dollars. He should get a very long time behind bars to think it over. But he probably won't even get a rap over the knuckles. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

I can’t believe the guy who ‘misled’ tracers gets off Scott free. The cost to the economy aside, the people who had to cancel funerals weddings, the cost and the mental stress,
Nov 17 1 year since China started this whole $£$%^%%$ messed up year.
Today 2000 dead in the USA, 250,000 total, a president who has lost the plot way more than any blockbuster ever has, they should call his reign the killing of America. But let’s not forget it was made in China. _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |
