Post subject: Keane Suspended. Tim Kelly not cited.
|
Quote: | The AFL advises the Match Review of last night’s Round Five game between the West Coast Eagles and Collingwood has been completed. One charge was laid.
Charge Laid:
Mark Keane, Collingwood, has been charged with Tripping Josh Kennedy, West Coast Eagles, during the second quarter of the Round Five match between the West Coast Eagles and Collingwood, played at Optus Stadium on Friday April 17.
In summary, he can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.

Type "Keane Collingwood" into a google search and you'll see plenty of articles suggesting he could/should be suspended for tripping Kennedy.
Type in "Tim Kelly" and nothing.
Did Kelly jump into the bump? Did Kelly make head high contact with his hip? Did Kelly concuss De Goey and break his nose too? Did De Goey leave the game from that point and be unavailable for Collingwoods next match? _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned!

After another look "De Goey Kelly" into Google and got this "....copping an accidental hip to the face from Eagles midfielder Tim Kelly".
That and of course the mobile phone thing comes up...

^ It's simply unbelievable isn't it. We should be accustomed to such bias I suppose, but it rankles anyway. |

Anybody but a Collingwood player that would have been a fine. And of course because it's Tim Kelly nothing to see there. |

The narrative was set last night once the commentators deemed the incident an "accident". _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

Par for the course, political correctness rules the MRP too. One rule for some, one rule for others. Fact. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

I didn't think there was anything in either incident. _________________ Buon Giorno |

Feel free to explain how it's PC to not suspend a player |
This was mentioned by a non Collingwood supporter on big footy, and I ain’t game to repeat why.
When it happened I remarked on the thread 2 players smashed him out of the fame, they get to play on, how is that fair? I can’t believe it’s not going to be looked at at least. Whatever the reason that bulkshit. All head high incidents that result in a player out of the game should be looked at. _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

You left out my big footy comment,
Although I don’t believe that, I just think they don’t give a shit about our players! _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Yes it is cited, but the MRP said there was nothing to see here so it was not sighted.
Michael Christian is the man in charge of the MRP so it is a bit hard to claim an anti-Collingwood bias. _________________ How would Siri know when to answer "Hey Siri" unless it is listening in to everything you say? |

For what it’s worth I didn’t think Kelly did anything sanctionable. It wasn’t a bump, but looked more like he was trying to avoid contact.
The Keane trip was a suspension every day of the week, though. No way he was going to get away with that one. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |
