Clearances - De Goey 6, Crisp, Pendlebury and Sidebottom 5, Daicos 3.
Centre clearances - De Goey 5, Sidebottom 3, Pendlebury 2 and 5 others 1 each. |
This without Adams and even Grundy is very impressive.
We played fantastically, Pendles was great, best game this year for him, the same to De Goey, a shame that he could miss next game, hopefully they can continue on this form, especially De Goey. Maynard had his best game for the season which has still been a good one for him, he has been a reliable lockdown defender for us this year but he was really damaging today offensively. The future is exciting and we still need to add Nick Daicos to this young core.
Just to add, great game from Lynch. My perspective on him has done a complete 180 turn. I thought he should have been delisted last year, and even dropped for this match, but he showed that he has some talent as a tap ruckman, which is really the only flaw in Grundy's game. We should keep him and trade Cox this trade period I think.

The club should contest De Goey's charge. It's clear that Jordy just managed to pull out of fully connecting Oliver, which is why Oliver got straight up.

Tim Kelly concussed JDG with a hip to the head and got off.
Can’t see why De Goey was given a week.

Good Point
I saw it briefly.. and note.. this is what I perceived before my wife grabbed my attention... else I was going to Die!
DeGoey lined him up and was going to do a Brereton to him. Didn't happen, but I don't think the AFL likes players attempting to take other players out.

De Goey ran passed the ball deliberately to take out the player with a hip an shoulder. De Goey hit him with significant force. Sorry but generally any player that does that these days will get suspended.
I think this is an open and shut case and it will be pointless appealing.
The interesting case will be the Mckay case.

I’m not saying that JDG was right in his action but generally for the game we were the hunter Not all unfair just hit Dees fiercely
But ain’t that what the games about—hard & contested
In fact I’d like us to persue within duty of care boundaries for remaining games this season as it creates doubt as to how opponents will go in to gain the advantage of ball pocession

But even the slightest of contact, given the aggressive go past the ball nature of the bump, was going to get a week....as for its effect, have a look at old mates face when he gets up, absolutely shat himself, and was hearing footsteps for the rest of the game....well worth a week

That’s what I said. Maybe overzealous and not in duty of care area
Attack the ball carrier fiercely and constantly then the side has doubts as to
“am I gunna get driven into the deck and regular-it’s gunna hurt”
We had them 💩themselves just like Crows week b4. I like hard footy

Comment on the game and the Mc Creery “don’t argue” goal which was started by that young kid Lynch
The ball in the air above the pack he comes in from the back ,jumps and calmly taps the ball in front of De Goey who just as calm hand balls to Beau
My point—I’d keep Lynch as he shows footy smarts
