Given the primary campaigns tend to start early the year before the election, I expect we'll be seeing a lot more of him a lot earlier than that. Will be fascinating to see whether the Republican Party turns its back on him (and I can't see any indication that they feel particularly inclined to) or decides to have another go on the circus ride. Jail might be the only way to stop him. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

I don't actually think they'd be crazy enough to let him stand for President again but I'm not sure if they can actually stop him?
My personal thought is he won't run but will have a big involvement in shaping who the nominee is. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

I think he absolutely will if he can* – he has scores to settle, and nothing much else going on these days – and while some in the party will be hoping he doesn't, I don't think they have any mechanism to stop him. So if he does run, it'll come down to the voters, and as far as I can tell the Republican base seems to lean heavily towards Trump over the party establishment (whether or not the broader US is sick of him).
Anyway, sounds like we might have to reverse our bet from last time: $20 says Trump runs and wins the Republican primary.

Trump or DeSantis will be the GOP nominee in 2024. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

OK, I'm up for that
Just to be clear, you're betting that Trump both runs and wins the nomination, I'm saying I don't think he'll run but if he does he won't win it.
Does this mean you're going to be accused of being the trump supporter for the next 3 years? _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

How do we all think Trump would go campaigning from behind bars? |

Sounds good. Given my luck with these things, I've just destroyed his future prospects of regaining the presidency permanently!

I dare say he could die and many of his supporters would still vote for him, under the rationale that it's all a deep state cover-up and that he's actually still alive on the Isle of Saint Helena, waiting for his glorious return. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Not well. But then again his supporters would think it was some crazy conspiracy inspired by the Democrats and the media and international Jewish socialists or something like that.Remember when Trump said he could pull out a gun and shoot someone in Times Square and his supporters would still stick by him? That was probably the most honest thing he ever said. |

Yep, agreed. A moment of clarity on his part, some might say! _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

A moment of clarity?
It was a stupid boast that turned out to be correct. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

I was hoping that the USA would wake up and register to vote to make this never happens again. And a rigorous overall of the Us electoral system.
It is no surprise that Australia was asked to run the election in Cambodia ahead of USA and UK. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |

So, Weissenberg has been charged. We'll see what, if anything, this leads to down the track.
Meanwhile:
Quote: | The US Defence Department has canceled a $US10 billion ($13.3 billion) JEDI cloud-computing deal with Microsoft that was struck under the Trump administration.
,,,,
The contract awarded by the Pentagon in late 2019 has been on hold after Amazon filed a lawsuit challenging the decision under then-president Donald Trump.
Mr Trump publicly derided then-Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and repeatedly criticised the company.
Shares of Microsoft and Amazon both closed at a record high with the online retailer up 4.7 per cent and shares of the software firm slightly higher.
Amazon said in 2019 the Pentagon decision was full of "egregious errors", which it suggested were a result of "improper pressure from Trump".
The company cited a 2019 book that reported Mr Trump had directed the Defence Department to "screw Amazon" out of the JEDI contract. |
