A nice piece on Collingwood website talks of us going over to Tassie to play a combined Tas side in 1956 and Mike lined up on the Weed who gives it to him but got back as much in return
We signed him straight up _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Every time one of these greats from the past passes on, I feel a sense of shame. I'd never heard of him until today, but now he's dead. Yet it is upon his shoulders, and so many others like him, the club I love endures still, proudly until now.
I'm glad he is not forgotten by the club. And thanks for posting. At a time when the club is looking for a new beginning, people like Michael Delanty can show us the way forward. He trod the same path all those years ago.

He was a tough one. Think he only missed 11 games. 5 of those suspended
He was a wild boy. His build and size plus the way he went in regardless

It is sad, they are all Legends for what they achieved against all odds.
Sadly those that are left are all getting to a ripe old age. _________________ Go Pies! |

Vale Mick Delanty, not many left from that immortal side now, id say. Probably our greatest ever Premiership, won of just courage, guts, and never say die, against a vastly superior invincible team, to protect our cherished record of Flags. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.
