Punjab thrashed Chennai last night. Tonight, we have Sunrisers v the Super Giants.
Lucknow Super Giants likely 11: 1 KL Rahul (capt), 2 Quinton de Kock (wk), 3 Manish Pandey, 4 Evin Lewis, 5 Deepak Hooda, 6 Ayush Badoni, 7 Krunal Pandya, 8 Jason Holder, 9 Dushmantha Chameera, 10 Ravi Bishnoi, 11 Avesh Khan
Sunrisers Hyderabad likely 11: 1 Kane Williamson (capt), 2 Abhishek Sharma, 3 Rahul Tripathi, 4 Nicholas Pooran (wk), 5 Aiden Markram, 6 Abdul Samad, 7 Romario Shepherd, 8 Washington Sundar, 9 Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 10 Umran Malik, 11 T Natarajan
The Sunrisers got trounced first-up. Having made the decision to let Warner walk in the off-season, they'd probably be pleased if Williamson could get to 5 or so opening, this time. |

The Royals finished on 3/169. Buttler 70* from 47 balls and Hetmeyer 42* from 31. The Challengers were wobbling at 5/87 in 12.3 overs before a 6th wicket partnership of 67 from from 32 balls between Ahmed (45 from 26) and POTM Karthik (44* from 23) settled the chase.
Tonight at midnight (AEST) it will be Kolkata and Mumbai. |

Some bloke called Cummins destroyed a good game of cricket overnight. Apparently, this chap is usually picked as a bowler in various forms of the game. Anyway, he was named MOTM for hitting 56 from 15 balls (Glenn Maxwell should watch to see how it's done) for Kolkata as they ran down - in just 16 overs - the target Mumbai set them. He also took 2/49, so maybe he could develop as an all-rounder - if he can improve his bowling.
Ball by ball progress of his innings:
1, 6, 4, -, -, 6, 4, 1 and then:
At the start of the 16th over, Kolkata needed 35 runs from 30 balls. Cummins faced. 6, 4, 6, 6, 3NB (caught from a no ball on the boundary), 4, 6. A player to watch, I feel. |

Delhi only managed 3/149 and Lucknow ran down the target. De Kock was MOTM for his 80 from 52 balls.
Looking at the table, the only undefeated team is Gujurat, which has played just 2 games, so far. Kolkata and Lucknow each have 3 wins from 4 games. Rajasthan, Punjab and Bangalore each have 2 wins from 3 games and Delhi has just 1 win from 3 games. Chennai and Mumbai have lost all 3 and Hyderabad has lost both its games. Those last 3 teams are in danger of losing touch, even at this early stage. |

"David Warner has not enjoyed his return to action with his old Indian Premier League franchise, dismissed for just four off 12 balls after a bizarre opening partnership on Thursday.
In a match that was billed as a 'homecoming' for the 35-year-old Sydneysider, who had last played for Delhi nine years ago at the end of a successful four-year spell, Warner's Capitals side were sent in to bat by Lucknow in Mumbai.
The left-handed Warner struggled for 12 balls while seeing only a third of the strike before he was eventually put out of his misery after an unconvincing 42-minute stay, caught at backward point.
At the other end, Prithvi Shaw seemed to be playing a completely different game as he pummelled 61 of their 67-run partnership, with the hard-hitting Australian left-hander totally overshadowed by his fellow opener.
Warner seemed to have lost all his rhythm by the time Shaw departed in the eighth over following his dazzling knock off 34 balls, which included nine fours and two sixes.
The score was 1-67 when Shaw departed, with Warner on four off 11 balls at the time."
