What is it with Hawthorn. Ribbed Naicos of a brownlow, and Pendles possibly the games record. Nothing good ever comes us of playing that lot except for 4 points.

He is, perhaps, our most critical component in aiming for the ultimate again in 2024.
There should be no compromise in looking after his health.
If we are good enough, we can win against Port without Pendlebury.
If we are not, so be it- at least someone like Macrae, Sullivan, Bytel, Allan may be given a shot.

We need to get used to playing and winning games without Pendles. After all, some time in the next couple of years he will most likely hang up his boots.

9,995 disposals.

5 disposals away from the 10,000 milestone.

And just 6 games from becoming the first player to play 250 senior games at the MCG. Notably, he and Sidebottom will on Anzac Day rank first and second for most games played there, all-time. Bartlett played 200 - and Steele drew level on 200 yesterday.

Do we think he has much more than about another 200 games in him?

We already have a bye coming up, so it's good time to manage him.

Good time for the bye. And smart to sub him off early in the 4th against Port.

5 disposals to go. And if they are 5 kicks it'll be 5000 handballs, 5000 kicks. Shocked

This will be his 17th Anzac match. Fletcher played 18. https://afltables.com/afl/teams/allteams/anzac_day_clash.html#ps

Hopefully he can go on and play in next years game and at least equal that. (Fletcher has no Anzac medal tho).

We've got 11 more games to go before he hits 400. I cannot WAIT for that!

Collingwood champion (Pendles) speaks on future, post-career plans

Pendlebury revealed he's yet to make a call on his future, with "the right call" to be made later this year. "I haven't made my mind up," Pendlebury said. "I've always said I think if we're around the mark and chasing and I've still got a role that the coaches see that I can fulfil and I'm not holding any youngsters back, then I'll go on. But if I am and they feel like I'm slowing down or am holding people back, then it's a pretty easy discussion.

Too old, too slow, should give it up.

Gee some people are absolutely mindless with a memory that only goes back about 5min. Probably the same type of people who honk their car horn at the car in front of them and don't see the traffic jam ahead.

If anything he is getting smarter every year and I just get a sense of calm when he has it in hand, can't imagine how much the whole team appreciates what he does.

Can anyone confirm that Collingwood wins the game every time Pendlebury kicks a goal? Must admit when he kicked a goal in the GF I knew we would win. Same today. When he kicks points though, we usually lose!

Today we kicked 4 goals in 1st Qtr, Pendles kicked 2 and was goal assist for the other 2. He doesn’t seem to be slowing down much, he could push on for the record.
