How much American TV do we need? Seriously Aussie TV is just as good and in many cases is better than some of these American Sitcoms. _________________ There is just one team we favour... |

Joel ol' buddy - 'Tis but a sad day when you and i have a difference of opinion... Whilest the Champagne edition of The Late Show was value for money with both discs full - it could have been better.
Firstly, they showed WAY too many moronic Martin/Molloy interviews with the elderly and ethnic public, very tiresome in the same way streettalk with Sam is on the Footy Show. The only funny one was when they tried to get into that shop wearing the various disguises.
Secondly, they ommitted ALL of the closing celebrity songs with the exception of Jimmy Hannon's Working Class Man. These should have been a chapter by themselves! These were always the topic of conversation the following Monday at work back in 1993.
Thirdly, they ommitted or half-showed sketches like "Movie-star monsters" (Taxi Driver, Falling Down etc), and the "Keating" and "Clinton" parodies which were classics, and instead filled the discs with MANY unfunny sketches, which must have amused them collectively anyhow.
So that's my 5c worth mate! |

Dyso, you are completely correct. However, being not too old when they were originally on, I can only comment on the various bits I have seen. I have seen the DVD plus other episodes a few years ago.
You've got it all over me in your knowledge of the Late Show, mate, so if you think it could have been better, feel free to say so.
Cheers! |

"IVAN REITMAN - WHO I THINK IS A GENIUS..."
