Tragedy... on so many levels.
I remember going to the Crowded House Farewell concert at the Opera House and how great they were.
The reports are saying now that is was suicide.

Former Crowded House and Split Enz drummer and TV personality Paul Hester committed suicide on Saturday after a long battle with depression.
Police reportedly found his body in Elsternwick Park near his home.
A message, sent to Crowded House and Split Enz fan club email lists said: "Everyone, sitting here in the office trying to figure out what to write, we are a bit messed up at the moment. Last night, our mate, and Crowded House drummer Paul Hester, took his own life.
"Over the years Paul has swung the extremes of happiness and sadness, but none of us ever thought this would happen. He loved life too much . . . " |

I was lucky enough to see Crowded House several times, and they were easily the best live band i have seen. Paulo was always full of energy and fun. _________________ Tubeway Army 1979

I must admit, its very rare that I shed a tear for a celbrity or anyone I have no immediate connection to when they pass, but I will say that I teared up at the passing of Paul Hester. Crowded House and their music have had a significant impact throughout my life and Paul Hester, someone whom I've worked with for charities and had some interesting conversations with was one of the most gentle people I've met, tragic passing for a musical legend. |

I was a big Enz fan and later of Crowded House, and saw both bands many times. I met Paul a few times as well (as a fan) and he was always happy to chat and was good for a laugh. A Melbourne icon in the music scene as well. Very sad news to hear.
Condolences to his family. |

true but it seems a bit off to make jokes about stuff like that.... especially like the tsunami cos so many people died.... _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |
