We are the team behind Hot Pies, Collingwood’s new (and first-ever) fanzine.

We launched the fanzine a couple of weeks ago at the West Coast game at Victoria Park. We haven’t yet sold out (1000 print run) but we’re close and the feedback we have had so far has exceeded all expectations. Collingwood fans are rapt that they finally have an alternative to In Black & White and the Footy Record.

Hot Pies is based on the football fanzine genre that exists in the UK which sees some of the bigger clubs with half a dozen or more fanzines. The general consensus is that it is about time Collingwood got their own. Hot Pies is totally independent and so far fully funded out of the back pockets of a couple of crazy Collingwood supporters (that’s us) who don’t expect to make a profit but also hope not to fall hopelessly into debt.

Hot Pies is absolutely pro-Collingwood We will take all contributions and we will publish criticism of the club but we simply see that as people’s right of expression and we recognise the need for a forum for such opinions but we ourselves will never bag the club we love.

We have been and will sell them outside of the grounds on match day but as we risk getting arrested every time we do this we are trying to build a subscriber base to ensure our future. Subscriptions are $10 (anywhere in Australia) for the next four editions. We will publish monthly during the football season and are aiming at five editions this year.
