Thought Swan was important when no one else was winning the ball. Started winning clearances and was good with ball in hand.
Sorry Dale |
Great point on Swan forgot to mention him, I thought he help get some important clearance for us, not his usual type of game but did thee things that needed to be done and kicked a goal to. |

I thought Shaw was the standout, a great turnaround from last week where he had an absolute shocker. I can think of at least 8 players who could've taken the next 2 votes including Maxwell, Johnno, Tarks, Harry, Wood, O'Bree and Dick from the top of my head _________________ Formally frankiboy and FrankieGoesToCollingwood. |

WTF? You're kidding right?[/quote]
I presume you are questioning Wood, whose first quarter was poorish. However he stood up and changed the complexion of the game in the middle.

Wood became better as the game went on - his work in the third was a big reason we won clearances. A few times he got his hand into contests to cause turn overs (or keep the ball in dispute) which doesn't get a stat but is huge in a tight game. _________________ I think therefore I think - I think |

3. Shaw - the game turned when he was the spare man in defence. Will probably be tagged next week but has shown he can deal with that now.
2. Sidebottom - Great game from a kid who has played a grand total of five senior games. Love how Mick is showing faith in them (Steele and Brent) when it matters.
1. Ben Johnson - Probably no one has really given his game much thought but in the third quarter his second efforts and two goals really turned things for us. I still don't like his kicking sometimes but he is showing loyalty, passion for the game and the club this year. Go Johnno. _________________ A Pie for Life. |

I left out Lockyer who I thought had his best final for the club, O'Bree who again worked his arse off doing the little things, and probably Shaw and Swan. |
Spot on Cam.I thought Woods first qtr was not good, but he lifted and it was the catalyst that brought all the others into the game with a great ruck effort.Maxy was brilliant and Sidey may well be yhe new star we need in and under.Thomas ,best game of the year and Shaw and Swan back to their best .Happy days ahead. |
