To me Ball looks shot for this season, seems to be another in the group of guys who have had horror seasons, a la Swanny and a few others. Bally has been easily among our top 20 for mine since he lobbed from St.Kilda, but this year he just seems to have forgotten how to play. I find this mystifying. Normally guys start to lose a yard of pace as the years advance, but to have two key mids just go from champions to fighting to hold a spot is just plain strange, & I'm yet to hear a rational explanation. Ball keeps showing that he still has the goods at VFL level, but seems not to be able to compete in the ones.
Still, I'd rather see a guy on his way up, like Kennedy or Thomas, despite a less-than-stellar season get the nod. Damn shame we can't use the opportunity to get a look at Freeman, Karnezis or Sharenberg, but for gods sake give Martin a full game, I really do believe that kid might have something very special.
Thanks for telling me your opinion.

I suppose on that logic none of us should post about injury updates that come from any credible websites that we read? Or any information for that matter. (Actually read that update from the pies twitter feed).
Didn't we have a big to do about making sure you acknowledge a source when you use their information.

No issue with posting updates mate, I just got a chuckle at your presentation style, that's all.

Most people would say "The Afl website is saying", or "the Magpies twitter feed has said" rather than making it sound like they spoke to some secret person who shared it only with you on the sly and had special secret information .........

I think you might find that he does ok the next few weeks. in my mind, there is only room in the team for one of Ball and adams and that only one can succeed at what they do best, because at any given time there is only one pill to dive on. both adams and Ball are serviceable in other roles, but can only be considered great players if they are the ones in the role of in and under guy.

Early in the year we were critical of Adams and now we are critical of Ball.

I think combining that with the effects of age makes it a little easier to explain what has happened to Ball.

If they go with JT over Ball, it will tell me that the club believes that age truly has caught up with Ball (this is 5 years after St. Kilda gave up on him remember so no small achievement by the man). I suspect they'll go with Ball, but we'll see.

Usually I do, but typing on my phone I try to keep it short and sweet. I read plenty on here with no sources mate. How you would interpret that as seemingly trying to pass off information that was readily available to anyone who read any of the footy sites or watched the news as my own secret information is a bit staggering for me, but I'm glad I was able to clear things up for you. Cheers

Collingwood is saying 12-16 weeks today so we're now at that point of hoping he gets a full pre season in!
After the epic draw comes the decisive knockout!
Collingwood rules the world again and Mick Malthouse fulfils his destiny with the twenty ten premiership and can you hear the people sing!

4 months for a phalange!? Broken legs heal faster! Bally seems to have gotten the nod, although Thomas is in the extended list, but I think he'll probably miss out, or perhaps cop the red. I do hope Kenno gets a full game, 38 in a tight match in the magoos is a mighty good reply to his omission. It was also good to see Matty Sharenberg get some footy under his belt, although I suspect we'll hold him until next year, that was a mighty long 8 weeks after all, but then not as long as Freeman's 4!
Back in the "good old days" a 4 week injury meant the guy would be fighting to get back in 3, now it seems to mean 'seeya next year", there has to be a reason why this keeps happening. I have my own ideas but most of us just want to believe it's just bad luck.
I'm guessing there'll be more bad luck to come before people take a harder look, but when we finally do we need to look above the neck, not below.

Really disappointed to hear about this injury that Taylor has sustained in last week's match against Port but I have massive respect for him for playing out the game despite the pain he must have been going through after quarter time.

I've liked what I've seen from him this year despite my initial expectations he'd be an automatic inclusion for the side from round 1 during the pre-season. We've got a good kid on our hands.
