Vale #1,#14 Captain Frank Tuck (1931-2016)
Frank Tuck our great backman from the 50's has
passed away.
A tough an fearless player and Collingwood captain
in our 1958 Premiership year.
Unfortunately was not to lead them in that famous
victory and the Weed lead them in his place as he
sat it out with torn thigh muscle
Bad luck was with him in 1953 premiership year -out
suspended
Frank 'part of the Peter Lucas--Ron Kingston and
Frank Tuck half back legend
At the 1958 reunion dinner it was remarked how
"Tucky" dished out the best "shirtfront's"
R.I.P "Tucky" am proud to have seen you do the Black and White proud
passed away.

A tiny bit of Frank Tuck action. It's early on as he dashes forward.
v South Melbourne at Victoria Park in 1957.
You also get glimpses of Weideman, Kingston, Brewer.
For South, 3 Brownlow winners are playing - Goldsmith, Skilton & Clegg.

Vale Frank Tuck. He's way before my time but this is sad to hear.
I was also reading on a Collingwood Facebook page that a player called Grant Wilmot who played a few games for Collingwood in the 1980 season also passed away this morning.

The half backline of Lucas --Kingston --Tuck be akin
to
Lucas with his neat appearance and and long stride
James Clement
Kingston a nuggety tenatious team first approach
Nick Maxwell
Tuck was a mix of those --he had dash and take me
on if you dare

Grant Wilmot's promising Collingwood career was ended by injury just as it was getting started. I am shocked by his passing as I saw him watching his 11 year old son playing basketball only a couple of months ago.Jezza wrote:Vale Frank Tuck. He's way before my time but this is sad to hear.

Correct Jezza. Grant was my coach at Heidelberg FC when I was there.Jezza wrote:Vale Frank Tuck. He's way before my time but this is sad to hear.

Passed away late 50's of a hear attack. Left behind a young son. A shame
One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership
I can't see any mention of his passing on the club website. Disappointing. It is a business now not a club.Albert Parker wrote:Correct Jezza. Grant was my coach at Heidelberg FC when I was there.Jezza wrote:Vale Frank Tuck. He's way before my time but this is sad to hear.
