Ta, I should be fine as I'm fully vaccinated like you. Just a precaution as I normally do grocery shopping on the weekend, might as well make sure I'm not infectious first then if this shit keeps up I can get some hayfever or cold and flu tablets.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

Of course parts of the article are up for debate.
Not everyone calling for tighter restrictions is doing it out of sadism, plenty are genuine in wanting to get things under control quicker and some are purely politically motivated, relishing the opportunity to bag Gladys as a failure after having to tolerate the comparisons between NSW and Victoria last year. Andrews in particular is loving it.
I read another article not long ago which picked apart Victorian restrictions and concluded that there was no way of measuring how effective individual components were, only that the overall approach as a package worked. (right now it's not working as well which is a genuine concern)
The NSW approach has always been to minimise limitations on people's freedoms as much as possible whereas you'd have to admit the Victorian response is utterly authoritarian. The aim in NSW is to get the outbreak under control using targeted LGA lockdowns. So far it's not working because people aren't complying. Putting a curfew in place, or a ring of steel, or locking down all of regional and rural NSW won't have any impact on the people in Sydney currently breaking the rules, it will just unnecessarily impact all those people in rural and regional NSW..

As someone who travelled freely last year between metro and regional Victoria without ever having to go through a checkpoint, I can testify from experience the ring of marshmallows was completely useless and a massive beat up by Danny boy about it’s effectiveness.
The fact after all his cheap political attacks on Gladys and his beloved ring of marshmallows that he hasn’t even been able to get VicPol to implement it again for this lockdown proves not only how ineffective it is, but how full of shit Danny boy is.

From the ABC blog:
Victoria has recorded 21 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 as contact tracers race to find the source of the mystery infections driving the outbreak.
The Health Department said 10 people were in the community while infectious and 11 were in quarantine for the duration of their infectious period.
All of the new infections are linked to the current outbreaks.
There were more than 33,000 test results processed on Friday.

Never mind, next week Melbournians will be celebrating the 200th day in hard lockdown.

Dan has always pursued an elimination strategy, so we will be in lockdown until either we get several consecutive days of no cases wild in the community or we get to around 80% fully vaccinated, whichever comes first.

From NSW Health twitter:
NSW recorded 466 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.
Of the 466 locally acquired cases reported to 8pm last night, 166 are from Western Sydney LHD, 106 are from South Western Sydney Local Health District (LHD), 59 are from Nepean Blue Mountains LHD, 37 are from Sydney LHD, 30 are from South Eastern Sydney LHD
That's 390 "wild" cases today.Seventy-six cases were in isolation throughout their infectious period and 19 were in isolation for part of their infectious period. Sixty-eight cases were infectious in the community, and the isolation status of 303 remains under investigation.
