Hope so, Olympics sucks. Go AFLW! Nice to see people playing a real sport as opposed to athletic events that nobody cares about outside of one week every four years.

It's interesting 'cos I really doubt AFL has harmed men's Olympic success. Dunno of any Olympics-standard athletes getting distracted by AFL.

(Just some Olympians fantasizing about playing AFL, e.g. Chalmers.)

The battle on the men's side looks like it's more between different team sports, e.g. codes of football, cricket, basketball...

The article got some airtime on Footy Classified.

They said the author is a hardcore NRL man... and it's really about NRL vs. AFL.
