Ask yourself, in 25 years' time, which of those goals will be shown in the highlights reels? It's pretty clear that no-one is going to watch Draper's ever again.

you can say the same for pretty much every goal of the year award.

Who won last year? What about 2020?

People going on about who cares about the Brownlow because a Carlton player won, but care about not winning GOTY.

One’s a bit of recognition for a player who did something useful in a game. The other is - most years, and certainly this one - a measure of which loser was the least unimpressive in a shit team’s crap season. Hence, the King of the Losers “takes home Charlie” on the back of “snatching” the winning “best on ground” in a game in which he and his entire rabble of a team choked when it mattered. It’s almost as bad as giving the thing to Tom Mitchell.

J Daicos wins goal of the year in 2020 and the Carlton supporters are filthy that Newnes didnt get it for a goal after the siren.

Well where was Elliotts nomination then? Not even in the final three. Are they up in arms about that? Nope.

Drapers goal was good, but how many times have they replayed the Daicos and Elliott goals?

They got it wrong, again.

And to think I've had people telling me that Maynard gets in the AA only because Bucks got him in. And it's rigged and he's undeserving... Only to then have a Brownlow medal go to a player that was suspended and a GOTY go to the third best goal of the year.
