Shannon Neale is 203 cm and is a forward. He is the "like for like'' for Hawkins (i think), so they still have the two tall key forwards (just not the Hawkins variety). De Koning is i think the replacment in defence for Henry.Pies2016 wrote:Without Hawkins, the Cats have played a small speedy forward line. I’m interested to see what the plan is for Frampton. I’m not sure they need him as a defender given the Cats forward line. Watch this space, I reckon the Frampton selection has got a bit of plan B strategy about it.
Pre-Match. Pies v. Cats. All comments.

We haven't had a full forward or a CHF lately.
Except for Ash who was kicking goals but was banished to the VFL.
What did that do to his confidence?
Checkers has been playing shit since McStay has been in the team
He seems lost.
It's about time they work it out...
Would you say we have a fearsome forward line?
In finals, if you don't kick goals you're f*cked.

Way to quick MM, I deleted the post as soon as I realised I had mixed up Neale with another Cats player. Yes, DeKoning and Rat play as key defenders as Stewart has been moved around in recent weeks but sets up as the quarter back extra when the game is motion.Magpietothemax wrote:Shannon Neale is 203 cm and is a forward. Mostly our forward line has been non-functional over the last two games because in each game we were smashed in the midfield. Our forward line has plenty of talent and flexibility, but currently is floundering when the ball either doesn't come in at all, or comes in to disadvantage. Our forward line will show its potential when:Take_a_Screamer wrote:We haven't had a full forward or a CHF lately.

a) we have at least equality in central clearances
b) we bring heat to the contest, critically in the midfield
Last week was very strange. Our plan re Sicily I think was for Johnson, McStay and Checkers to triangulate, and with Sicily on one of them, the other two to therefore become viable targets. But our forward three did not seem to be able to get their synchrony correct, and the ball came in rarely, or not to advantage.
Both Checkers and Johnson were ineffective last week, but Checkers has runs on the board so you are always going to do everything you can to prioritise his form. However, I think the key to the revival of Checkers' form lies mostly in vastly reinvigorating our midfield performance.

just clicked on link and saw that Leigh Montagna, Anthony Hudson and Jordan Lewis have not yet submitted their tips. After they do, it will be Collingwood 8 to Geelong 4.Take_a_Screamer wrote:Hope you're right Magpietothemax

Mihocek is just in a slump, but we need to have faith in him that he can turn it around.Dave The Man wrote:I would of Dropped Miocheck and Kept Johnson
In addition, we need Mihocek and McStay to play as many minutes together leading up to the finals.
