Apparently Eddie said on MMM that Cox couldn't play because he met the VP, ie that there were players on the list that were eligible games wise but were not allowed to play for some reason. Anyone know anything more about that?

Was this true for Marsh as well I wonder??
Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!

This has been canvassed before. He came up 1 VFL game short under the eligibility criteria. Whether you want to blame the meeting with VPOTUS, the week's rest he had after having a week's rest over the mid-season bye, the rushed promotion to face Richmond or the shoulder injury he suffered in that game that kept him out for the following week is entirely up to you.

1892_ and I debated and examined the various players eligible to play over in the VFL section.

Oh I see so his was that he hadn't played enough VFL games instead of too many.

*looks it up* Apparently you need to play 6. unless your AFL team is still in the finals.

Cox only played 5.
Marsh played 6.
Goldsack played 8. He was eligible.
Cloke played 7. but 1 too many AFL games

Marsh was eligible. They obviously decided to send him on holidays instead.

Yep. 6 games if you have played AFL after July 1st and no more than 12 in the AFL for the whole season.

I like Cox.

*blush*

As for Gault and Witts... mein patience has worn as thin as a disguise upon a mother in law's threats.

Big Howe is better than both of them as a footballer. Only as a tap ruckman is he behind Jagged Jarrad.

There are other sections? ;) They are the dark places where some lurk and some leer and some talk with their beer.
