Uni Exam Results

Post by Joel »

Hi everyone,

I just got my Uni exam results and was wondering how everyone went. I went okay, but can do alot better.

I'm studying for a Bachelor of Business and Commerce at Monash.

Accounting: Credit
Microeconomics: Distinction
Management: Credit
Marketing: Pass (I hate marketing)

I have improved in accounting considerably since last year when I understood zilch. Micro, interesting subject. Management, one of my best subjects last year in Yr 12 and marketing...GRRR, I do not like that subject, boring...zzzz IMO!

Anyway, next sememster starts next monday (DAMN!!!), after a month and a bit off on holidays I will have to get back into the groove again.

I'm a slacker and only did one subject last semester:

Legal Environment of Business: Distinction

I'm doing a Master of Business Administration at Monash Caulfield.

hey joel, did you access your mark through the monash exam website? if so, did you notice that you came up with another person's mark first, then you can only get yours when you hit the refresh button?

Congrats Joel - they're great marks!

I did a Bachelor of Economics at Monash (too many years ago to remember now!) and did very similar subjects (don't know that my results were as good as yours though!!!) Image

Junkboy - Yeah accessed mine through the Monash my.monash.edu.au Portal. It took forever, I logged on at 12pm (after about 100 attempts) when the results were supposed to be up but it said there was a delay till 1pm. So, I checked back 1pm and the results were there. It came up with my name, I printed them off and it has my name up the top. So, I guess the server must have stuffed or something when you were accessing your results.

Kristin - Thanks!! Image

And here I was thinking that all Collingwood supporters didn't go back after primary school, have no teeth, and a vocab of 23 words.

Seriously well done to all, full and part time (Danny) students.

Well done to everyone who passed their exams. I received a Distinction for Business Statistics and I'm still waiting on my Intro to Law result.

Don't say you hate marketing Joel, I'm studying that (and Management) next!

GO PIES!

Goodbye Dolly I must leave you, though it breaks my heart to go,
Something tells me I am needed at the front to fight the foe,
See - the soldier boys are marching and I can no longer stay,
Hark - I hear the bugle calling, goodbye Dolly Gray. </B>

Thanks guys!

MargOZ - Well marketing can be okay but for some reason, not matter how hard I tried I only was receiving average or poor marks. Whether or not that was an individual problem is another thing all together. I found the lectures pretty boring and verrry long compared to some of the other subjects.

Management you should go fine in, just a fair bit of theory. i.e. Henri Fayol, Frederick Taylor, Theories of Motivation, theories of this and that, theories of the organisation or that sort of stuff. I stuffed up my first assignment in Management though, I didn't do the referencing right (mind you it was my first go at it) and I forgot to read the fine print in the assignment guide, USE ALL FOUR readings...Oh well, as long as I pass the subject.

BTW, In marketing there is a fair bit of theory as well, the actual subject I did was called, Marketing Theory and Practice. Stuff like the BCG Matrix, not too hard really, but there is a fair bit of course content.
